Culinary & Cultural Arts Program

We are excited to announce a program exclusively for Arts Magnet students taking place June 26-30.  We have partnered with our world famous executive chef Dan Giusti and the Brigaid Chefs-in-schools program to offer students the chance to get immersed in the culinary arts.  For five days (9-3), students will work with executive chefs to learn about the culinary arts.  Students will travel for two of the days to Stone Acres farm to experience all parts of the food process.

June 26-30, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Interested students must return this application packet; program is limited to 20 students.

There is no cost; breakfast and lunch are provided (and sometimes dinner to go!) and bus transportation for New London students.

On Friday, June 30, parents will be invited to attend a presentation of food cooked by students as a culmination of the program (details to be announced, but likely around 3:00 dismissal time)

Students already planning to participate in other summer programs at the middle school (Camp Rotary or Ocean Camp) will be permitted to hold their spot for the following week.

In addition, through our partnership with Expressiones Cultural Arts Center, a professional dancer from Colombia is coming to the U.S. for a 4-week dance residency.  More information will be shared about this.  Then on June 30, a presentation of dance combined with culinary students' prepared food (with some Colombian flavors) will close the week.
